Background: a rotor body had worn beyond the point where replacing individual parts alone would restore stable running condition. Solution: the rotor was inspected, protection caps and wear parts were replaced as a matched set, and machining was completed to drawing tolerance before assembly. Scope: rotor cap, large structural machining and refurbishment. Outcome: the assembled rotor was supplied with dimensional and NDT records.
