Inside our non-destructive testing routine

Magnetic particle, ultrasonic, X-ray and dye penetrant inspection are all performed in house, alongside tensile, impact and hardness testing.

Non-destructive testing is part of the standard inspection routine for shredder wear parts. Magnetic particle, ultrasonic, X-ray and dye penetrant inspection are all performed in house, alongside tensile, impact and hardness testing. Each method covers a different defect type: magnetic particle and dye penetrant inspection reveal surface discontinuities, ultrasonic testing examines internal soundness, and X-ray inspection is used where the casting geometry calls for radiographic verification. Inspection records are kept with the traceability code of each casting, so the test history of an individual part can be retrieved after delivery.
